This week we have enjoyed learning about plants and what they need to grow, we have been drawing plants and labelling the parts and finding out what part of each plant does. We have investigated what plants need to grow.
In our language we have been reading the story of Jack and the Beanstalk and answering questions about it. We have learnt how to use our new role play area, and what challenges we can do in there.
In maths we have been learning our number bonds to 10 and 20 and have helped Jack to get to the top of the beanstalk. We have been re-building the beanstalk by putting the number bonds together.
In forest school we did a mini beast hunt and founds lots of insects like bees, flies and worms.
Next week we will be learning about the lifecycle of a butterfly. We will be thinking about what we would do if we had a magic bean and what would be at the top of what has grown from our magic bean. We will be thinking about the characters from the story of Jack and the Beanstalk.
In maths we will be learning how to half numbers and numbers of objects. We will be playing some halving and doubling games. In circle time we will be talking about how we look after living things.
In year 1 we have got our very own caterpillars to take of and to observe growing into butterflies, so next week we will observe what has been happening.
