Always Aiming High – Anelu’n Uchel O Hyd

term 3

After a fantastic Easter holiday we have been very busy in the new term.  Our topic for the term is 'In the garden'. We have been doing lots of work about how plants grow and looking at minibeasts.

We have been looking for signs of spring and watching how our environment around school is changing.  In forest school we have been looking for minibeasts and measuring sticks we have found.  We enjoyed a walk around the local area near school.

We have started to add to our classroom displays.

We have been learning about symmetry and have made our own colourful, symmetrical butterflies.

We have drawn some minibeasts for a display in the corridor.

We made models of minibeasts. They look lovely hanging from the ceiling.

Sports day fun

On Wednesday 6th June, the sky was bright and blue.  The children had been practising for weeks and today was their big day.  Today was sports day.

All the children were fabulous, they all tried their best.  They stayed in their own lanes (phew!) We had 3 races in reception.  The sprint was the first, then we jumped into hoops and finished off by grabbing our buckets and spades before catching a fish.

Next it was the turn of the parents......

There was strong competition from the mums.  But then it was the turn of the dads.

There were slips, flying hoops and photo finishes.  Well done to everyone who took part, the children loved watching you as much as you enjoyed their races.  What good sports!
