We have been doing addition this week-the compact method in columns. The paper shows the 10 being carried on top but I have taught them to put it underneath the answer, although it doesn't really matter as long as they remember to add it!
PARTY AFTERNOON!!FRIDAY 18th January.
The children can come in their own clothes tomorrow. We have voted and all decided that board games and party games are how they would like to celebrate being awesome individuals!!I'm looking forward to it too!
There is no homework on paper this week. Please access Spellodrome and TTRockstars for times table and spelling practise.Thank you.
Happy new year!Welcome back everyone. The children are settling down nicely and have enjoyed sharing their adventures over xmas.We had an assembly yesterday reminding children of our routines and expectations which are the same as last term. However,I had quite a few children a little confused this morning about points for Spellodrome. They need 500 points, not 5000 at the end of the week which runs Monday to Monday. They have lots of opportunities to access Spellodrome during the week so this is a very achievable target. Please come and ask if you need clarification on anything. We’re here to help.😀Many thanks.
Friday 21st December

We've had a busy day!Its been very windy so instead of going outside, we did some welsh country dancing in the hall.It was great fun.Throughout the last 2 weeks we have been putting some dance moves to our english and maths lessons to get the children up on their feet. Also, we have been watching and discussing the Zen Den, Cosmic kids. It is Mindfulness for children. It is an excellent way of teaching how to recharge batteries, discussing our feelings and dealing with thoughts, be they positive or negative. The children are enjoying it very much and are benefiting hugely from this circle time as they begin their year 3 journey and get used to change. Please rest assured that you will be contacted quickly if your child is unsettled, although I have to say all are very smiley at the moment.Lucky us!See you in the morning.
Could all homework books please be covered in sticky back plastic or wrapping paper and labelled. Thank you.
