Week beginning 23rd April
Swimming has now finished for this year! The children in Year 2 were definetly a credit to the school and also their parents. Instead of swimming on a Friday afternoon the children will now enjoy their 'Right to Play' time where they can choose which area they spend playing.
⭐️⭐️This is very popular and the children enjoy mixing across the year groups and engaging in play activities with the staff.⭐️⭐️
In Class 6 we also have 'Show and Tell' on a Friday where the children can share their special objects and talents with each other.

PE days are Tuesday and Friday.
Reading books are changed Monday and Thursday.
Forest school is every other Wednesday beginning 20th September.
Homework is given every Friday to be handed back the following Thursday.
Dojo points are used in class to award hard work and excellent behaviour.
Week beginning 19th February
This week we have been busy retelling stories. We have been understanding all about Chinese New Year and why it is celebrated. In maths we have been busy using our numeracy skills to solve word problems. In PE we have begun to develop our skills using a racket and a ball. We have started our topic ' On the Move' which is all about transport. Next week we will be having a 'Wales Week' as it is St David's Day and our class assembly on Friday. We will also be starting our first swimming session next Friday too!

Week beginning 15th January
This week we will be exploring daily temperatures and we will be taking the temperatures of different types of soil. We will be creating our new role-play area which is 'The Titanic'. We will be using our Art skills to create winter scenes and describing theses using adjectives and connected sentences.
Fun with Spheros today.
Class 6 used the iPads to control the Spheros around the classroom. They talked about the directions that they had programmed into Sphero to make it move.
Week beginning 8th January
We have been busy this week looking at directions using Beebot. The children have been busy writing about their Christmas holidays. In PE we have been using our bodies to make some fantastic circuits. We are beginning to explore Materials and their properties too.
Homework 24th November
This week we would like your child to
become Entrepreneurs. We have £15 in Class 6 to use to make items that can make a huge amount of profit for our Chrisrmas Fayre. We would like your child to come up with an idea that they can then make as a class. The best ideas will be made in class the following week. Any items that you could donate to help the children would be gratefully received.
This week in school it is Anti-bullying week. In class six we had to help a child called Sam and discuss how we could help him from getting bullied. We are writing our Sam stories which are all about bullying.
In maths we are converting analogue and digital time and we are looking at quarter past and quarter to.
In Forest school this week we read the story Leaf Man and made some wonderful Leaf men using all the beautiful leaves we found.
This week we have been busy thinking about Remembrance Day and being thankful to the brave soldiers who fought for our country. We have been busy writing poems and letters all about the soldiers.
We have also been busy telling the time using o'clock and half past. We have also been comparing both analogue and digital clocks too.
We have been painting electrical appliances for our house and also exploring Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament in our Parliament week. We thought of lots of questions that our student counsellors could ask Mark Tami. We also had a class debate about Big Ben and whether or not 61 million pounds should be spent to restore it.
Next Week 13th November
We will be learning all about Remembrance Day and taking part in our Parliament week in school.
We will also be starting our Christmas production so some of the children may have lines to learn over the next few weeks.

🔥🔥🔥We have been busy exploring Bonfire Night this week. 🔥🔥🔥
We have been listening to the story of Guy Fawkes and sequencing this. We have been writing diaries as one of the characters from the story as well as using our creative skills in drama in a hotseating activity.
We have also been creating Firework Safety posters and sorting groups of fireworks into 2s, 3s, 4s, 5s and 10s and then counting them too.
In PE we have been using the ribbons to create a Firework dance and have also made a class dance too. We have also made some delicious chocolate apples and talked about halving.
In Forest school we made Guys, Fireworks and Bonfires using lots of lovely natural materials that we found around the school.

After half-term our topic is Livewires/Electricity.
We will be making our pet accessories the first week back .
The children have some fantastic ideas and plans. I will look forward to seeing the finished product.
We had our first assembly today which was called 'A Colourful World' the children were fantastic and some fantastic talent was evident today. (Photos to Follow)

Wrap up warm as we will be building some Guy Fawkes dolls.
We will be spending this week looking at Africa. The children will be deciding what they would like to find out. Any African items would be gratefully appreciated.😊

Class 6 have been very busy this week 11th September.
We have been reading all about Mog and the V.E.T and writings some fantastic predictions to the story. We have been busy finding out all about Hamsters and answering some questions from the information we have read.
We have been using our addition skills to add the legs of different animals and exploring Numicon to make numbers using our place value skills.
Our topic this term is All Creatures Great and Small
We have been examining and looking at the X-rays of different animals. We have been discussing which animals we think the X- Ray's belong to and recording this in a table.
In Welsh we have been asking 'Sut Wyt ti?' And have been creating songs with our friends too!
Exploring Welsh words so we can express our feelings.
