Chinese food tasting! We tried fried rice, noodles, prawn crackers and SEAWEED!

This week we have been learning all about Chinese New Year. We have listened to the story of the animals and learnt about how Chinese New Year is celebrated, we made new years wishes, tried Chinese food and even found China on a map.

The children have been learning how to count in 2's, 5's and 10's in maths, we have played games, sang songs and wrote our numbers.

We have been making our own fairy tale villain's in language and we used lots of amazing adjectives to describe them.

In forest school we made our own Chinese dragons and even enjoyed some hot chocolate.

Next week..

It is the last week of half term and we are celebrating St David's Day! We will be looking at how people in Wales celebrate this special day and on Friday the whole school will be taking part in an Eisteddfod. Year 1 will recite a Welsh poem all about daffodils.

In Maths we will be learning how to count in groups, we will be thinking about how we can make sensible estimations and group items before we count them.

In language we are going to learn what a sentence needs and what makes a good sentence including capital letters and full stops.

In topic we will be looking back over the half term and evaluating what we have learnt and done. In PE we will be learning a Welsh Folk Dance.

Our Class Service - Looking after our World! Class 3 did a wonderful job performing out assembly this morning and sending the very important message how we need to look after our world. All of the teachers were very impressed and myself and Miss Evans are extremely proud of them! Well done Class 3!

14.02.19 - Forest School: Today we made Chinese Dragons using natural materials and we also enjoyed a yummy hot chocolate with marshmallows!
